    You will never be able to do the splits if you try it like him

    theres two types of stretching
    maintaining stretching and progression stretching (names vary)
    to maintaing flexibility you want to stretch for about 10-15 secs (no bouncing)
    progression stretching to become more flexible you want to stretch each muscle group for around 30 secs
    this is info coming from a personal trainer :)
    hope this helps anyone who wants to become more flexible
