types of martial arts and how they are done?

i want to start taking martial atrs but dont know which one to take let alone the names. i want to know what they are like jabs and punches or dangerous stuff things like that. one that i would like to learn about most is where you can like paralize someone with jabs or something

you people really need to learn to use the search function or at least look down the page and see the other questions that are the same

secondly and more important then any thing martial arts is NOT for paralyzing people it is for self defense. if this is your goal stay out of my dojo,

most people will tell you there style is the best or they heard such and such is a great style,

the style is not important, what matters is how good your instructor is and how you train. the style is secondary, they all have there pro’s and con’s there are no superior styles, or perfect technique.

you size, weight and age have nothing to do with the style that is right for you, its what you feel comfortable in, some people can use kung fu better then karate other are better at karate then kung fu, some will prefer japanese jujutsu. it more about what you prefer then and find better to fit your movements

Well. If you want to win all your fights learn Jui Jitsu. It dominates over all martial arts, but it a form of wrestling so it may not appeal to you.

If you want to learn how to beat the shit of someone learn mui thai. It a form of kick boxing except its not for pussys. It focuses on using all 8 of your limbs (elbos, knees, fists, and feet).

I also have heard some good things about ninjitsu. Look youtube videos.

Martial arts are over rated. If you don’t have any power behind the punch, it does no damage. Go to the gym and lift weights. It will do you more good.

Jabs, punches and dangerous stuff to paralyze people….Sounds like you need help from Chuck Norris or Jean Claude.

There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live.

Karate-Mainly footwork with some upper body.
    Judo and jujitsu- Grappling
Gung fu (Kung fu)- open handed style (palm based)
    Muai Tai- elbows and knees
Tae kwon do- Korean equivilant to Karate

List goes on but these are the ones your likely to find a Dojo in your area. Martial arts is a discipline and self defence. As for learning Dim mak (death punch) good luck on finding an instructor that will teach you, let alone knows it.

Don’t confine yourself to one style, learn what you can from whatever art you can, find what is useful to you and discard teh rest, but do not become trapped in one form

  9. The only way you’re going to paralyze someone with a jab is if you jab a knife into their spine or your jab knocks them over something that breaks their back.

But if this is your attitude, you want to learn to hurt or kill people, then join the military and not the martial arts. The last thing a martial artist would ever want to do is kill someone, the second to last thing is to maim them.

If you seriously want to learn a martial art for other purposes then find a good instructor in your area whose class schedule is convenient and prices are reasonable. The name of the style is unimportant. If you are a serious martial artist, you’ll be seeking out other instructors and other arts in a few years anyway but then you’ll have a frame of reference on which to base your search.

Well if you want to find a martial art to work out and have fun than pick anyone of them from any of the posts above… Now if you want to defend yourself, learn to fight, than take Krav Maga this is the art developed and is practiced by the IDF Israel Defense Force and Mossad as well as being adopted by the US Dept of Homeland Security, FBI and almost every law enforcement agency around..

martial arts are not meant to attack, but mostly to defend

paralyzing could be best archived through dim mak
