Robert Clyne is very interested in understanding how the Shaolin Monks use Chi or Chi Gong exercises to perform seemingly impossible feats. Liu Gao Jie shows Antonio Graceffo how he does the Chi exercise, but stresses that Chi is no replacement for actual, normal physical training. He also says that this type of Chi preparation and power cant e used in a San Da fight.

Antonio Graceffo is impressed with the precision of Savate Master Dominique Fontanarosas kicks. He can literally place kicks anywhere on his opponents body. He can kick slowly, touch, and hold the position. Savate is a sport of precision, strategy and science. Savate would be a devastating background for anyone wishing to compete in kickboxing or MMA. Linguist and boxer Christophe Clugston makes a brief cameo appearance in this episode. And Jeet Kune Do practitioner, Greg Unno spars with Antonio.

Muay Thai Chaiya is a fascinating fighting system deeply rooted in the martial traditions of ancient Thailand. Host, Brooklyn Monk, Antonio Graceffo studies with Kru Lek, one of Thailands leading practitioners of this effective art. Chaiya uses a low stance, bare knuckles, elbows and knees out, like a prickly pineapple waiting to impale the opponent when he moves in. the movement and position of the Chaiya fighter is so different from any other stand up fighting art that it completely takes the opponent out of his game. Antonio was barely able to do anything against a Chaiya student who had only six months of experience. The bulk of Kru Leks students are normal people who practice for fun, culture, and fitness. But some chose to fight in the professional Muay Thai ring, and they do extremely well. Unlike sport Muay Thai, Chaiya is taught from the ground up, similar to a traditional martial art, such as Karate or Tae Kwan Do. A student could walk in off the street, with previous martial arts experience and begin learning the basics from an instructor.

In Taipei, Taiwan, host, Antonio Graceffo meets Sifu Gordon at Evolution Combat where he gets a lesson in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). The interesting thing about MMA in Taiwan is that many of the practitioners have a background in Wing Chun or Chinese martial arts, as well as wrestling, Sambo, or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As a result, the art and the fighting have a different look than MMA in other places. Some of Gordons throws even come from Tai Chi. Particularly, the stand up fighting is different, because in addition to Muay Thai you will see spinning kicks, straight kicks, karate and kung fu kicks.
